The 1st Hussars are a friendly group of relaxed games players. But of course you already know this, having read the other parts of the site and marvelled at the skill involved in creating it. Or not.

The point is that we measure players based upon how well they follow our own set of codes and whether they will fit into the existing group. We do not recruit based upon skill.

So, how can you join us?

Recruitment into the 1st Hussars is by invitation only, normally made by a member of the Top Brass or by the Recruiting Officer if one exists.
This is not designed to be elitist or for any reasons involving skill or dedication to particular game, but simply because we are a friendly group who can be likened to a gentlemen's (person's) club and we need to know that any prospective members will fit in well with our existing members and with the ethos of the clan.

Any prospective member to 1st Hussars must be nominated by an existing member, with the clear understanding that by making the nomination, they are accepting responsibility for the initial behaviour of that person and that they are convinced of the suitability of that person for joining our ranks.

All prospective members will be expected to join the HGG forums (follow the "Parent Site" link on the left) and play with us where possible.
Once we have a feel for how they are shaping up, any existing member can propose membership and this will then be discussed (here) by the senior members of the clan (Top Brass and Regimental Officers). If there are no objections, an invitation will be sent out to them. These rules are applied whether or not the proposed member is a relative or friend of an existing member. TB have final say on all recruitment decisions.

Anyone wishing to play with the Hussars should join the HGG forums and join in with our community. If they are endorsed by an existing HGG member or another known player (member of a friendly clan, etc.) they will automatically be given HGG access, otherwise they will need to make themselves known to us before this happens.

HGG is a loose community and not a clan as such (the 1st Hussars are the clan at its centre), but some HGG members wishing to identify themselves as such can use the [HGG] tag for certain games, on the understanding that the tag is only to be used in conditions agreed by the TB.
