Field Marshall Sir Douglas Haig
[1stHssr]Dougie Haig

Other Aliases: Santiago
Real Name: Pete
Location: Dorset, England
Born: Yes, in 1968

Background:
My name is Peter and I am a Wargamer (there I said it, it wasn't so hard). I enjoy most periods of warfare, but particularly WWII. For my sins, I work with Blackadder in Technical Support. I have been spending money on computer games for more time than I care to remember, or count up. Particular favourites at present are BF1942, Jedi Knight and Dungeon Siege. I am part of the group of hopeless anoraks that Tipplewick has mentioned, although in my case the masquerade is wearing a bit thin. There - you really wan't to know me now don't you.

Gaming Aliases:
On line I am usually Santiago. This is a nickname I earned as a tabletop wargamer, where I had a Feudal Spanish army. (a simplification but I don't wish to bore you). I have also used the name Viking when pushed. (My American Football team!)
I chose Dougie Haig because I have always felt that Field Marshall Haig has had a bit of a bad press. Yes, he made serious errors, but no more than any other general of his era or doctrine would have done. I also liked his character in BlackAdder.

Hussars:
How did you find the Hussars or how did they find you?
I have always shyed away from clans, they seem to require (read demand) commitment, time and a certain ability to qualify. There also always seemed to be an overwhelming urge to win at all costs. Then Blackadder showed me the forums, and explained the Hussars mentaility and I asked to join. So here I am.

How does playing with the Hussars compare to other games/matches?
There is no comparison. Fun, Teamwork, an acceptance of people who contribute but may not be the best players in the world, these are the things that mark the Hussars out. By the way, having read Baldric's interview I like the definition of the Hussars as a Regiment rather than a clan.
